Social Activism
Sociology has completed changed the way I perceive the world. It is hard to describe, but simply put, I am more privileged than I ever knew. As a male, as a person viewed as white, as person in the middle class , as a person in America, and so many others. The opportunities available to me are tremendous and often overshadow my views of others. Classes, church, and experience have helped me recognize these inequalities, and I am devoted to being part of this solution.
Currently I am working with an excellent organization: Mobile Loaves and Fishes. This company equips a catering truck and drives directly to the homeless, serving them food within the Austin and Nashville areas. It certainly has given me a new view of the homeless and the work that needs to be done to change this epidemic in our country.
